Indian Premier League COO produces two-year phone records at BCCI Working Committee meeting to prove he had no conversations with a bookie contact

Sundar Raman, the Indian Premier League (IPL) Chief Operating Officer, who is indicted in the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Mudgal Committee probe report, yesterday clarified his case to the Working Committee members in an emergent meeting at Chennai yesterday.

It is learnt, Raman produced call records of his mobile phone over the last two years to prove that he did not speak to a bookie contact "eight times in a season" as stated in the Mudgal Committee report.
Raman also said that he did not hide anything from anyone. The Mudgal report stated that Raman 'accepted' receiving information about Gurunath Meiyappan (N Srinivasan's son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings official) and Raj Kundra (co-owner of Rajasthan Royals) involved in betting, but did not act on it.
The report also stated that Raman was "informed" by the ICC-Anti Corruption and Security Unit chief that this was not information to act upon.
Raman clarified to the members that he had "no idea" of Vindoo Dara Singh being involved in betting activities. Later, Raman "became sentimental and expressed his love for the country and the game. He said he is honest and has done nothing wrong," the source told mid-day.
After hearing Raman's side, the Working Committee members decided to back the IPL COO to represent himself before the Supreme Court.
Raman, who is a member of the ICC's Integrity Working Party, did not respond to calls. Meanwhile, the members were also given a copy of the final report of the Mudgal Committee. The Working Committee also decided to once again postpone the November 20 BCCI Annual General Meeting to December 17.
