Exactly a year back, three players from Rajasthan Royals were arrested for their role in the spot-fixing scandal. We look at what the chief protagonists of the scandal are upto nowadays

IPL spot fixing scandal: What are the tainted players doing now?

Ankeet Chavan, S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila, Siddharth Trivedi, Amit Singh and Harmeet Singh

Ankeet Chavan
Ankeet ChavanAt 28, Chavan ought to have been striding towards the peak of his career for Mumbai and RR. But destiny had other things in store for the left-arm spinner. And instead of weaving his magic again after a successful Ranji season, the spot-fixing scandal has ensured he will never feature in an official cricket match played under the BCCI banner. He got married on release from jail, but thereafter very little has been heard of him. Rumour has it that he's in the printing business.

S Sreesanth
S SreesanthThe life ban has done little to deter the former India paceman from living the life of a celebrity. Television crews followed him to the temples he visited after he was released on bail last year. Thereafter he got married to a lady with royal lineage in December and is now preparing to appear on a dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Ja. Interestingly, this will be Sreesanth's second stint in a reality dance show, as he previously appeared in Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina in 2008.

Ajit Chandila
Ajit ChandilaThe tainted bowler was suspended immediately after the spot fixing controversy broke last year. But the BCCI is still to take a final call on his future. Ironically, the disciplinary committee of the Board which is supposed to take a call on him, is headed by N Srinivasan who has been asked by the Supreme Court to stay away from office till investigations into the scandal are complete. Chandila, meanwhile, has endured a difficult year with his brother passing away last August.

Siddharth Trivedi
Siddharth TrivediThe pace bowler, who was part of the Rajasthan Royals line-up, was banned by the BCCI for one year after it emerged during investigations that he had failed to report being approached by bookies last year. He has not featured in a first class game since the IPL game on May 24 last year and it remains to be seen where the future of this 31-year-old is headed.

Amit Singh
Amit SinghThe 32-year-old's career is as good as over after he was handed a five-year ban by the BCCI's disciplinary committee. Little has been heard of the medium pacer who was more in the news for his questionable action until the spot fixing episode broke out. He was accused of introducing players to bookies, but there was no direct evidence of him being involved in fixing.
