The new selection committee headed by former paceman Chetan Sharma will meet virtually for the first time today and select the Indian team for the first two Tests against England.

Both Tests (February 5-9 and February 13-17) will be held in Chennai followed by two Tests in Ahmedabad (February 24-28 and March 4-8). It is learnt that Chetan, who incidentally played a fine role in India’s 1986 Test series triumph in England, will examine injury reports on players thoroughly. The meeting is not expected to be a short one considering several injuries afflicting the Indian team which is in Australia.
