Match 23 of the ICC World Cup 2023 between South Africa and Bangladesh is being played in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Bangladesh and South Africa, both teams are playing their fifth match in the marquee event.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh.

Shakib Al Hasan is fit and is leading the Bangladesh in today's match. South Africa's stand-by captain Aiden Markram continues to lead Proteas in the absence of Temba Bavuma. Bavuma is not fit to play the clash against the Bengal Tigers.

Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks opened the inning for South Africa. Both held the Protea's inning by playing sensible strokes.
Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam struck Reeza Hendricks in the seventh over's first ball. Hendricks departs for 12 runs. Rassie van der Dussen came in to bat at no.3 and was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan for one run.
South Africa crumbles for 36 runs for a loss of two wickets at the end of eight overs. Skipper Aiden Markram enters in the middle to accompany de Kock.
Bangladesh bowlers are not letting any South African batsman to set. Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock will look to stabilize the Protea's inning after the early scalps.
