“The academy has helped a lot. In fact, it changed my career from a predominant opening batsman to a bowler,” Agarkar said during the launch of Dilip Vengsarkar Academy’s website at the Cricket Club of India.
Tyson’s suggestion
During a visit to Vengsarkar’s academy, England great Frank Tyson suggested that Agarkar concentrate more on his bowling because of his smooth action. “I was still playing U-19 cricket. I started bowling a lot more but got noticed during a CCI game. I did not have a bad action which worked in my favour,” Agarkar said.
About launching the website, Vengsarkar said: “It has come a bit late. I used to get a lot of queries about how other kids will get the help of the academy, and that’s how this idea came up. I thought we should be able to help everyone in the world. I am pleased RelTime came forward to complete this goal.”
