Aryan Sarangdhar's all-round show helped SPS Shree Mumbadevi Vidya Niketan (Borivli) register an eight-wicket win over Rajhans Vidyalaya (Andheri) in Round Two of the U-16 Harris Shield tournament at Islam Gymhana yesterday. The right-handed batsman scored 58 and finished with figures of 4-47 in his 11.1 overs. Medium pacer Sagar Sonawane (4-44) complemented Aryan as the duo put on a disciplined performance to bowl out Rajhans for 129. The Andheri school were comfortably placed at 86-4 in 19.1 overs, but suffered a collapse from which they never recovered. Eshang Shah top scored (55, 7x4, 1x6) for the Andheri school. In reply, the Borivli outfit lost two wickets as they reached the target in 18.1 overs. The opening pair of Aryan and Atharvan Chavan (45, 7x4) stitched a 92-run partnership for the first wicket.

Aryan looked in good touch as he smashed seven fours and three sixes during his stay in the middle. Left-arm medium pacer Prit Jain was the only successful bowler for the Andheri outfit with figures of 2-24. In another match, Cathedral & John Connon School (Fort) beat VPMS English School (Vile Parle) by nine wickets at Cross Maidan. Arnav Shah scored an unbeaten 31 to take the Fort outfit to victory. Earlier, Amrit Hareendran scored 43 before VPMS English were skittled out for paltry 93. Yugadhikrit Bajaj (4-6) was the pick of the bowlers for Cathedral & John Connon.

In a match at the Shivaji Park Ground, Utkarsh Tyagi (3-7) and Jaden Rodriques (3-19) returned with impressive figures to help St Thomas Academy (Goregaon) secure a 72-run win over BKM High School (Malabar Hill). Batting first, St Thomas managed 135. All-rounder Jaden (31) was the top-scorer for the Goregaon outfit. Pradeep Vishwakarma (4-22) and Sumit Salvi (4-55) shared eight wickets between them for the losing team. While chasing, none of the Malabar Hill outfit batsmen could come up with an inspiring performance as they were bowled out for 63.
