Before Tanpure, 28, joined the police force in 2015, he had clinched nine medals for the State team.
“I had a total of nine medals which included four golds at the state level. My best throw was 64 metres. But when I became policeman in 2018, I attended the cricket team selection trials at the Police Gymkhana and started playing with our team,” Tanpure told mid-day.com.
Riding on Tanpur's six-wicket haul, Police bowled out for Parsee Gymkhana for 84. In reply, Police declared their first innings at 85-8 with Yogesh Patil top-scoring with 40.
