MCA’s Joint Honorary Secretary Nitin Dalal said: “Our president Sharad Pawar and vice-president Ravi Savant (who is also a BCCI vice-president) have had discussions with BCCI and IPL officials and they have assured us that our letter asking for reasons to move the final without intimating us would be replied to by Tuesday.

“Depending on what the reply is, the Managing Committee will decide its future course of action.”

It is learnt Pawar also spoke to N Srinivasan, who had to vacate the BCCI president’s post till the probe into the IPL spot fixing and betting scandal is concluded. Dalal said the MCA will cooperate with Mumbai Indians in hosting their remaining two home matches at the Wankhede on May 23 and 25.

“It was also decided that we will not hamper any of Mumbai Indians’ matches. We have no problems with them. We still hope that the final will be played at Wankhede.”
