It will be interesting to see what action cricket authorities will take against the India players who reportedly stepped out of their hotel without informing the security team deployed by the Punjab Police yesterday.

Chandigarh police complained to the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) about the surprise outings of Indian cricket players from the hotel in which they are staying. "First Yuvraj Singh, breaking all the security barriers, stepped out of Taj Hotel at around 7.30 pm. He went away in a friend's car. Not only this, after sometime, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh also went out of the hotel without informing anybody," Superintendent of Police (Security) H S Doon told IANS.

If Yuvraj is indeed guilty of a security breach, it will be another instance where the Chandigarh police have taken exception to his outdoor activities. Yuvraj reportedly stepped out without permission or escort to visit his father Yograj who owns a petrol pump nearby during the India vs England Test match last year. A police team rushed to the spot and accompanied Yuvraj wherever he went including a Sikh shrine.

Police sources told IANS that Chandigarh police is also planning to write to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), raising this issue of breach of security cover with them. Hotel staff said that Yuvraj had gone out with a friend to meet his father Yograj.u00a0 "In order to ensure foolproof security of players, we want cooperation from them. But such incidents make things really difficult for us," Doon added.
