March is a time of stress for most students in India. It's the month when exams are held and for those few who are appearing for their boards, it is doubly hard. Students are under tremendous pressure to not only score the highest marks possible and be toppers in a competitive world.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag knows a thing or two about pressure having played 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19T20Is for India.

Viru took to his Twitter recently to encourage students who are going to appear for their board examinations and ensure they don't feel pressurised. He wrote, “Board exams are like Cricket matches. I never played under any pressure. You should not too."

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar has directed a short film "#ReleaseThePressure" on the issue. According to Sircar  mounting pressure to perform has become a stark reality for the urban child's growing up years.

The short film and Sehwag's tweet are part of the #ReleaseThePressure campaign by Mirinda, and has been released keeping in mind the examination season. The campaign invites people to pledge to 'release the pressure' off the pressing issue of academic performance and the toll this takes on children.

"Mounting pressure on the kids to perform, has become a stark reality of every urban child's growing up years. And I firmly believe our primary responsibility as a conscientious parent, as citizens and as makers of this film, is to not only raise this issue but also to raise it in a manner keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter for the kids that face it," Sircar said in a statement.
