Gavaskar XI annexed the Varroc Cup U-14 selection Tournament at Cross Maidan on Friday thanks to a draw between Vengsarkar XI and Tendulkar XI. The victorious team earned the title despite losing their last match to Baroda.

Gavaskar XI were shot out at 110 in the first innings. In reply, Baroda scored 150, courtesy the fifth-wicket partnership of 79 between Hrishikesh Jadhav (47) and Ansh Patel (39).
Gavaskar XI scored 57-2 in the second essay.
Patel, with 16 wickets was declared player of the tournament.
In another match at the Oval Maidan, Vengsarkar XI scored 209 for five in reply to Tendulkar XI’s 275-6 declared. Captain and opener Pragnesh Kanpillewar scored 134 not out for Vengsarkar XI while Faiz Rathod top-scored with 155 for Tendulkar XI.
