The Pakistan pacer has requested the government to telecast the team's World T20 matches again

For long, Nawakheli town in Pakistan's troubled North West Frontier Province has been regarded as the home of international squash. Umar Gul has put it on the cricket map with his heroic bowling at the World Twenty20.
After helping Pakistan lift the World T20 title in England on Sunday, the fast bowler is the pride and joy of his village, which has produced squash legends like Jansher Khan and Jahangir Khan. However, Gul was a bit disturbed to learn on his arrival that people from his area were deprived of the T20 action on TV owing to
load shedding.
Gul, hence, requested the government of Pakistan to telecast Pakistan's World T20 games again. "I have learnt that the people in Nawakheli did not get to see the matches because of load shedding. I request the government of Pakistan to telecast the matches again," said Gul on reaching his hometown.
The 25-year-old, who became the first bowler to take five wickets in a Twenty20 international, was given a hero's welcome yesterday with tribesmen firing in the air and beating drums outside his new home. "All the players are satisfied knowing they have brought so much joy to the people who are going through tough times," said Gul.
