After a splendid show last weekend, Shinrai Toyota and Nirlon will face each other in Satuday's summit clash of the third edition of MiD DAY Corporate Cricket League
Shinrai Toyota will take on Nirlon Ltd in the final of the PearlsGlobal Arena MiD DAY Corporate Cricket League at ParseeGymkhana, Marine Lines on April 28. On Sunday, Nirlon Ltd registered a comfortable 37-run victory over defending champions Pantaloon India Ltd in the first semi-final. Pantaloon won the toss and elected to field.

Deepak Gaikwad’s 18-ball 30 and Dharam Ganantra’s 22-ball 29 helped Nirlon reach a total of 92-3 in the stipulated 10 overs. Later, superlative bowling performances by Rahul Sagar (2-8) and Nikhil Bagal (2-9) helped Nirlon bundle out Pantaloon for 55 in just 8.1 overs. Gaikwad was adjudged the best batsman and Bagal the best bowler.
Meanwhile, in the second semi-final between Shinrai Toyota and Serco, it was the former who emerged victorious by five wickets. Shinrai put Serco into bat and opener Amish Dabholkar provided his team a perfect start by scoring 30 runs off 18 balls. He was ably supported by Brijesh Pujari, who contributed 27 to the total of 108-6. Later, Shinrai’s Sajid Khan scored an unbeaten 35 off 14 balls that included five sixes and Javed Shaikh made a quickfire, nine-ball 27 to ensure Toyota reach the target with six balls to spare.

The pulsating MiD DAY Mumbai anthem in the background and some fine commentary by Dr Gokul Singh kept the spectators engrossed throughout the day.
