Ranade, while addressing the voters for today’s Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) elections, recalled the incident to provide an example of shoddy treatment meted out to cricketers by MCA.u00a0

“During the World Cup final, Sachin was allotted 20 tickets in the Garware Pavilion. Some of his family friends and guests were there. But the way they were treated was shocking. We had to literally beg for food passes (in the president’s lounge).

If this is how a legendary cricketer can be treated, one can imagine what other cricketers have to go through. Sachin does not know about this incident.

Cricketers are asked to stand in a queue for match passes,” Ranade told the gathering at Worli. Ranade is contesting for a managing committee post from Vijay Patil’s Cricket First group. u00a0
