"Master Blaster @sachin_rt gifts his own autographed bat to #PranavDhanawade for his record breaking innings," the BCCI confirmed Tendulkar's gesture in a tweet.

Tendulkar was quick to congratulate 15-year-old Dhanawade on his mind-boggling knock of 1009 in a school game on Tuesday.

"Congrats #Pranav Dhanawade on being the first ever to score 1000 runs in an innings. Well done and work hard. You need to scale new peaks!" Tendulkar had tweeted on Tuesday.

Dhanawade, playing for KC Gandhi Higher Secondary School, reached the gigantic score of 1000 in just 323 deliveries with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 312.38 in the game against Arya Gurukul in the Bhandari Cup inter-school tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Meanwhile, MCA president Sharad Pawar will felicitate Pranav and his school team ahead of its Managing Committee meeting on January 13.
