Gulam picked up two wickets and scored a quick-fire 25 at the Islam Gymkhana yesterday as Springfield Rizvi beat Cardinal Gracious (Bandra) convincingly by 5 wickets.
u00a0Having won the toss and elected to bat, Cardinal Gracious lost their way as only Mayuresh Yelve's 32 and Abhishek Singh (22) put up any kind of resistance to Rizvi's bowlers. None of their other batsmen managed to make a mark with the only decent partnership being a 39-run stand between Mayuresh and Darshan Chinchankar (14).
Off-spinners Gulam and skipper Punit Tripathi took two wickets each as Cardinal Gracious were bundled out for 136 in 41.4 overs. There were also four run-outs in their innings. Springfield reached their target in just 15.4 overs.
