Barca skipper says team will overcome AC Milan's 0-2 deficit and win tonight

Puyol is positive!

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol believes his side will respond with a victory when they face AC Milan in tonight’s second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. The 34-year-old said that the Blaugrana can overturn the two-goal deficit from the first leg, citing a mental strength both on and off the field.

“We have the recipe to come back and win,” he told La Vanguardia.

“The team has come through some tough tests, not just in a footballing sense,” Puyol added, referring to the recent illnesses to defender Eric Abidal and coach Tito Vilanova. Barcelona have been criticised recently due to their lack of intensity without the ball, and Puyol admitted that this aspect of their play needs to improve.

“We need to re-apply the pressure. The most important thing about this team is the reaction when they lose the ball. People invent reasons for the defeats, but the dressing room is united.”

AC Milan will not defend: Constant
AC Milan’s Kevin Constant made yesterday that his team will not just sit back and defend against Barcelona tonight.

“We’re all focused on the match against Barcelona.

We start with a 2-0 lead but we won’t be going there just to defend. We’ll have to take to the field with the right mentality. Barcelona are a great team but they’re going through a tough period.” u00a0
