It is going to be an eventful week for Indian cricket. After the appointment of Anil Kumble as Team India's head coach and the drama surrounding it, all eyes will be in the Indian capital now as the Supreme Court is set to give direction on the implementation of the Justice Lodha Commission's recommendations that is set to change the way the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) runs the game in the country.

Before going on a break, the apex court had heard BCCI's counsel and its affiliated units on their resistance in implementing the Lodha recommendations. The petitioner in the case Aditya Verma, who has been fighting a long battle with the BCCI to get Bihar back in the fold, expects a decision today. "Since the honourable court has finished hearing all arguments, I am expecting a direction in the matter today.

"I have also put a plea in the court, objecting to Anurag Thakur as the BCCI president since he has been chargesheeted in three cases in Himachal Pradesh. That matter will also be heard today," informed Verma.

Lodha Commission's recommendations, if accepted by the Supreme Court, would change the landscape of how cricket is governed in the country. While the BCCI has already implemented some of the recommendations suggested by the Lodha panel, the Indian cricket board is not ready to accept some contentious issues like one-state, one-vote, 70-age limit for office-bearers etc.
