Baroda beat hosts Mumbai in the Vinoo Mankad under-19 opening one-dayer yesterday thanks to an all-round show by their skipper Mohit Mongia, the son of former India wicketkeeper Nayan. Put in to bat, Mumbai were bundled out for 143 in 35.4 overs with opener Divyaansh Saksena top-scoring with a 96-ball 77. Baroda's left-arm medium pacer Mistry Milan (3-21), off-spinner Mongia (2-26) and left-arm spinner Ninad Rathva (2-27) caused the damage.

In reply, Baroda reached the target in 21.4 overs with seven wickets to spare. Mongia came in at No. 3 and stayed unbeaten with a run-a-ball 55 with the help of six boundaries and a six.
