Mumbai man Abey Kuruvilla, who built a platform for India to win the Barbados Test with a five-wicket burst against West Indies in 1997, said he had never seen Sachin Tendulkar so upset as he was after the 38-run defeat.

"It was horrible. With the batting line-up we had, we should have won easily although the wicket was not all that easy to bat on." recalled Kuruvilla, who made his Test debut during the series. "Sachin was really upset. He didn't talk for some time; even coach Madan Lal. We would have been the first Indian side to win at Barbados.

"Throughout that Test match we kept coming back. I think Sachin and Rahul (Dravid) were declared out off no-balls in the Test. We had only 120 to get. In every game Sachin gave not just 100 per cent, but 200 per cent and my heart went out to him," said Kuruvilla.
