He also made it clear that he will be in MCA to contribute wholeheartedly. Former India skipper Dilip Vengsarkar (195 votes) regained his vice-president's post after several years while former Test batsman Pravin Amre (170) got elected as a managing committee member for the first time.
"I am here only for the betterment of this game and I'm confident we will live up to our voters' expectations," said Vengsarkar.
Former Test cricketers Lalchand Rajput and Abey Kuruvilla who contested for Joint Secretary and vice-president's post respectively were unable to get the required votes to win while former Mumbai spinner and selector Sanjay Patil also did not earn a place in the managing committee.
