Gopinath Munde will come to know whether he can contest the October 18 Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) presidential polls against Sharad Pawar today afternoon.
The senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader yesterday appealed against his disqualification from the polls. Munde’s nomination was rejected on the grounds that he is not a permanent resident of Mumbai.

His lawyer put forward their appeal to MCA president Ravi Savant. “The hearing on this matter is scheduled for 3 pm tomorrow,” confirmed Dr PV Shetty, joint secretary of MCA.
As per records, Munde is a permanent resident of Beed. However, he had claimed to MiD DAY in an interview on Monday that he has enough proof to indicate he is a resident of Mumbai. If Munde’s nomination stays rejected, Sharad Pawar, who headed the MCA from 2001 to 2011, will be elected unopposed.u00a0
