Virat Kohli's stylish ascent
Skipper Virat Kohli smashed two consecutive tons, in the fourth and fifth ODI, taking his tally of total ODI tons to 30 in 194 games. He thus became the joint second-highest in the list of century-makers in ODIs, alongside Ricky Ponting, with only Sachin Tendulkar (49 hundreds) ahead of him. He also became the fastest to reach 15,000 international runs in just 304 games en route his 82 in the only T20I v SL.



MS Dhoni's dashing glovework
Wicketkeeper MS Dhoni pulled off a trademark quick stumping to dismiss Angelo Mathews (above) off leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the only T20I on Wednesday to record the most overseas dismissals in international cricket — 476. He went past South African Mark Boucher (475). Three days earlier, the former India skipper became the first 'keeper to effect 100 stumpings in ODIs. He achieved the feat in his 301st ODI.

Bumrah's perfect pace
Pacer Jasprit Bumrah hit a new note during the ODI series. The Gujarat speedster finished the five-match series with 15 wickets at an economy rate of 3.90. In the process, he broke the record of most number of wickets by a pace bowler in a bilateral one-day international series featuring five matches. The pacer eclipsed the previous mark of 14 set by Australian Clint McKay v Pakistan in 2010.

Pandya's dream debut
Hardik Pandya, India's 289th Test player to appear made it a debut series to remember. The all-rounder scored a half-century in his very first Test innings in the first Test. He then scored a hundred (108) in the third Test, to finish with an aggregate of 178 runs. He picked up four wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan's classy comeback
Shikhar Dhawan grabbed the opportunity of making a Test comeback with both hands, by smashing two centuries against SL. Dhawan, who was included in the squad as a replacement for the injured Murali Vijay, tore into the Lankan bowlers with a 168-ball 190 at a strike rate of 113.09 in the first Test in Galle. He amassed 126 runs in the post-lunch session. Resuming on 64 after lunch, he reached 190 before tea. He finished the three-Test series with a whopping 358 at 89.50. He also scored 119 in the third Test.
