True, the Indian Premier League franchisees met with the interim IPL chairman Chirayu Amin in Mumbai yesterday, but no concrete decision was made.




The IPL's governing Council however, have assigned former India captains Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi to hold dialogues with the team owners and then make a suggestion to the Board about how to go about the organising of the fourth edition of the IPL.

However, the BCCI made it categorically clear that it was open to suggestions and dialogues with the team owners, the IPL would not tolerate any interference in the organising of the IPL by the team's owners.

Meanwhile, the team owners ufffd almost unanimously expressed that the glamour quotient from the IPL should not be done away with. "The charm of the IPL will be lost," a representative of one of the franchisees was quoted as saying. The representative also said the team owners were united on this front at least.

The teams barring Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were in favour of player auctions.
