However, the encouraging signs don't exactly sit well with former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi. "This is not a happy day.

I would call it a tragedy of sorts because the highest court in the land had to intervene and show some light on this issue. The light is still not yet bright the other members of the Board are sitting ducks. Didn't they know what was going on," remarked Bedi.

"The Supreme Court had to right the wrong, but there is still a window open. There is still a lacuna but one thing is clear…the BCCI's credibility and integrity is tossed out of the window with the court appointing a panel of their own (to decide on the punishment for Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra for their involvement in betting)."

Bedi said yesterday's developments is good reason for the BCCI to come under the Right To Information Act.
