birth anniversary yesterday, former India opening batsman Gautam Gambhir suggested a simple solution to end the debate.

"Instead of debating the 'ownership' of Sardar Patel, political parties could have done well to own his ideas," Gambhir, 36, wrote to his near-six million Twitter followers yesterday.
"We are not united about our past, cannot handle our present and have no plan for the future. Our great leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel will be disappointed," added Gambhir in another tweet.
