Sourav Ganguly has not filed a police complaint after Saturday night's fracas outside his home in Behala here.
"Everything is over. We learnt that Sourav didn't want to complain against anybody," an official at Behala police station told MiD DAY yesterday.
On Saturday night, Ganguly faced up to a mob that was protesting an accident which took place near the area.
Without realising it was the former India captain's car (a BMW), the protesters wanted to display their might.
Ganguly's security guard Bivas Guha's effort to clear the way was in vain as he was roughed up. Ganguly then came out of the car and ensured there was peace. Guha had to be hospitalised since he was badly beaten up.
The star cricketer did not suffer any injuries, but his anger was not concealed.
"When the security guard told the protesters that it was Dada's car, they should have put an end to their antics immediately. It was an ugly sight," said an eye-witness.
