East Zone clinched the Deodhar Trophy after a gap of 10 years by defeating West Zone by 24 runs in the final at the Wankhede today.

After East Zone scored 269, Bengal pacer Ashoke Dinda ripped through West Zone’s batting line-up with four for 33 in his 10 overs. He bowled a brilliant first spell of six overs in which he claimed three wickets and conceded 22 runs to leave West Zone in tatters at 37 for 3 in 11 overs.
Dinda, who had been impressive in the semis against North Zone, moved the new ball brilliantly under lights. He was well supported by Biplab Samantary, who finished with two for 52 in eight overs.
Kedar Jadhav top scored for West Zone with 97 off 91 balls but West lost their last six wickets for 52 runs.
