The special cell of Delhi Police has rubbished paceman S Sreesanth's claim that he had confessed to spot fixing charges under duress.
“He had to say something in his defence. But we never treated him like a criminal as he did not possess such a background.

We even provided him whatever we had here in the special cell office,” said Lalit Mohan Negi, an officer attached to the special cell who had interrgated the disgraced bowler. “That included our own beds for him for sleep. We never put pressure on him at all,” he added.
“The special cell handles terrorists and hardcore anti-national criminals. Spot fixing was a totally new case for us,” explained Negi.
“For us, all three (Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila) are young men who have committed a big mistake without realising the consequences.”u00a0
