The tactian added that he would love to have ortugal star Cristiano Ronaldo in his team as well.
"Let's say that Cristiano is incredible, but Messi is from another planet," he told reporters.
"I don't have enough adjectives to describe Lionel, and there is not one which can define his level.
"It is a pleasure to coach him, I know that I am privileged. There are a lot of trainers that must envy me and Pep Guardiola. Players like Lionel emerge very rarely, if they emerge at all."
Batista, however, was careful to praise Ronaldo, asserting that the Real Madrid forward is a "crack" who "has a hellish dribbling talent, hits the ball very hard, is quick and strong." Of Messi, Batista predicted: "I think he is going to be the greatest footballer of all time, whether he wins a World Cup or not."
