The Super Kings put down quite a few catches besides missing a simple run-out.

Fortunately, it didn't cost them dearly as the Chargers folded for a mere 100 runs with over five overs to spare.
"We need to work on our fielding. It's very important especially in low-scoring games," said Dhoni, who scored his first 50 of the tournament as his team totalled an impressive 178 for the loss of three wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

Openers Matthew Hayden (43) and Murali Vijay (31) gave the Chennai side a good start, which No 3 batsman Dhoni capitalised on well.

Speaking on his form, Dhoni said: "I was struggling when I was coming down the order. I can't start hitting from the very first ball. So, I promoted myself but the credit goes to the openers, who gave us a good start."

Good target
Dhoni also admitted he was happy with the target set by his team. "We expected more than 175 and were happy to get 180," said Dhoni who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

The Chargers began their chase badly losing their three top batsmen without without scoring. Skipper Adam Gilchrist, Herschelle Gibbs and VVS Laxman all departed without troubling the scorers leaving the Chargers reeling at the start onu00a0 one for three.

Dhoni said it was the ideal start for CSK. "They (Deccan) rely a lot on Gibbs and Gilchrist and have big hitters down the order. We needed to take early wickets and did just that," added Dhoni's whose side now tops the table with nine points (four wins, three losses, one no result).

Meanwhile, Gilchrist admitted that after losing early wickets they had lost all hopes of a win. "We were never in the chase after that start," he said.
