Wankhede special
While Chris Gayle smashed the most number of sixes (28) against England, it was not at home, but during away matches. During the ICC World T20 on March 16 at the Wankhede Stadium last year, Gayle struck 11 sixes en route his 100 not out. It was at the Wankhede where Gayle registered the maximum number of sixes in a single innings against the Three Lions. Moeen Ali was the most affected by Gayle's smashing, going for four sixes in his four-over spell. Chasing 183, Gayle's century effort proved vital for the Windies as they walked away with a six-wicket win.

No respite for England
Gayle has been a nuisance for England in the Caribbean as well. The Kensington Oval in Barbados looks to be his happy hunting ground. He struck six sixes in two matches here. It was on March 11, 2014, where he hit four sixes during his 36. Posed with a target of 153, Gayle's knock helped the hosts clinch a five-wicket win.

Sixy at The Oval
While Gayle hit only one six at The Oval in London against England from three matches, he struck six sixes against Australia in a single match there. On June 6, 2009, during the ICC World T20, Gayle scored 88. His knock enabled WI achieve a seven-wicket win.

India too get a beating
The Kensington Oval in Barbados was where Chris Gayle smashed seven sixes in a match, the most against India, both home and away. It was on May 9, 2010 during the ICC World T20 when the run machine went berserk during his 98-run knock. Gayle's innings helped West Indies set a target of 170. The Windies won the match by 14 runs.

Wonder at the Wanderers
After England, Chris Gayle has caused most damage to South Africa in terms of sixes. His favourite ground is the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. In two matches there, he has struck 17 sixes. In his first game on September 11, 2007, Gayle scored 117, an innings laced with 10 sixes. His ton propelled the Windies to 205, but that was not enough to take the visitors across the line as South Africa won by eight wickets, courtesy Herschelle Gibbs' unbeaten 98 and Justin Kemp's 46*. In the second match on January 11, 2015, chasing a stiff target of 232, Gayle's 41-ball 90 (seven sixes) helped West Indies to a four-wicket win.

Eight and great!
Newlands in Cape Town (South Africa) will be a venue Gayle will remember for a long time. It is here on January 9, 2015 that he hit eight sixes during his 31-ball 77. Gayle's knock saw him register a strike rate of 248.39. The West Indies won by four wickets.

Aussies get their share
The R Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka has been the venue where Gayle has scored 10 sixes, the most he has hit at any venue v Australia. During the ICC World T20 on September 22, 2012 (his first match at the Premadasa), his 33-ball 54 saw him register four sixes. Although his effort powered West Indies to 191, they lost by 17 runs (D/L method). But Gayle is not one to give up. On October 5, 2012, both teams met in the semi-final and Gayle struck six sixes for his 75*. The West Indies set a target of 206 and bowled out the Aussies for 131 to clinch a 74-run victory.

52 No. of matches West Indies'Chris Gayle took to hit 100 Twenty20 International sixes. The southpaw reached the milestone in 49 innings
