After the success of the first leg of IPL-7 in the UAE, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could consider hosting the Champions League T20 here later this year. So impressed are officials of the Board, that they could also look at the three venues — Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi — to stage a bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

This was revealed during a press conference that was addressed by BCCI interim president Sunil Gavaskar, Chairman of the IPL Ranjib Biswal and COO Sundar Raman.
Biswal revealed that the Board had earlier received a request from the Pakistan Cricket Board about staging the Indo-Pak series there, but had not got back to them officially.
The officials are satisfied with the level of security that have been provided at the venues under the guidance of the ICC’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit. BCCI is also trying to streamline players’ agent accreditation process.
All agents will have to seek registration from the Board. This issue could be sorted out after the conclusion of the IPL.
The Board has also formed a committee which includes BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel, Board Treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry and Biswal that will look into the compensation to be paid to the franchises on account of the losses they would have suffered on account of the IPL shifting to the UAE this season.
