"I just hope his health will permit him to do the job earnestly" Bedi told mid-day yesterday.
"I have a lot of time for Dalmiya. He is an able administrator, who has headed the BCCI and ICC. He is very shrewd and unlike some other administrators, he has a cricketing background," said Bedi.
Despite what his critics say, Dalmiya always put his best foot forward for the development of Indian cricket and Bedi reckoned he would assert himself well: "He would also want to remove the blemishes against his name once and for all."

He added: "BCCI is definitely in a hell of a mess and the Srinivasan influence is still floating around. It is to be seen how the Supreme Court views this.
He is still getting involved and has his finger in every pie which is certainly not desirable."
