Johannesburg: Uncapped pacer Andrew Fekete has been named in the Australian squad as their surprise inclusion for next month's Test series against Bangladesh.

Debutant top-order batsman Cameron Bancroft has also been included in the 15-man squad.

Besides, opener Joe Burns, Patrick Cummins, Usman Khawaja, Glenn Maxwell and Stephen O'Keefe are recalled in the Test side.

Confirming the news, national selector Rodney Marsh said that it would be a good opportunity for Bancroft and Fekete to kick off their Test careers and establish them as the core of the side, Sport24 reported.

Meanwhile, opening batsman David Warner and leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed are ruled out of the squad due to injury.

Earlier, ex-skipper Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin, Ryan Harris, Chris Rogers and Shane Watson retired from the Test cricket after their defeat in the Ashes series against England.

Australia will play two Tests against Bangladesh in Chittagong and Dhaka from October 9 and October 17 respectively.

Australia Test Squad:

Steve Smith (captain), Adam Voges, Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Patrick Cummins, Andrew Fekete, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Nevill, Stephen O'Keefe, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc.
