Finch, batting for Yorkshire in their three-day match, was struck on the chest early on the first morning of the match on Monday, cricket.com.au reported.
The injury forced him to retire hurt. However, he was able to walk from the field unaided and the match continued at Barnt Green Cricket Club in Lickey.
After reportedly spitting up blood, he was taken to hospital for scans and X-rays, but was later released.
