PM Modi Attacks Sonia Gandhi Over 'Beta Saunp Rahi Hoon' Appeal To People

PM Modi while addressing the public of Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur attacked Sonia Gandhi’s appeal to the public ‘Main Apna Beta Aapko Saunp Rahi Hun’, and said that they consider Lok Sabha Seat their family property. PM Modi said, “You would have seen it in the news. Congress’ prince fled from Wayanad and went to Raebareli, and he told everyone ‘Ye Meri Mummy Ki Seat Hai’. When a child goes to school, even he doesn’t say that it is my father’s school, even if his father had studied there. His mother went to Raebareli for the campaign and said ‘Main Apna Beta Aapko Saunp Rahi Hun’. But the public of Raebareli asked where were you when we were suffering from COVID, couldn’t you come to Raebareli back then? Now you are asking to give Raebareli to your son? These family-driven people are writing the ‘Vasiyatnama’ of Lok Sabha seats. These are the same people who talk about inheritance tax. You will earn, Congress will take it away. They consider Lok Sabha seat their family property, no party worker will get a chance, it will pass on family line only.”

Smriti Irani speaking exclusively with ANI, slammed the Congress party over Gandhi family’s treatment of Maneka Gandhi, alleging that she was "stripped and assaulted" when she contested against Rajiv Gandhi from Amethi. Maneka Gandhi, the wife of late Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi was reportedly keen on contesting from her husband's seat Amethi after his death. In 1984, she contested from the seat against Rajiv Gandhi in 1984. However, she lost by a huge margin and ended up losing her deposit."When Maneka Gandhi contested against the Gandhi family from here (Amethi)...a young widow with a young child...literally she is stripped, she is assaulted. And the message goes in the region, that if we didn't leave her, how will we spare you?" Irani said. "This whole subset, that is so enamoured by the giggling Gandhis, they don't realize the muck, violence, torture, they are capable of. Beneath that sheen, is so much of dirt," she added.

He emphasized the government's efforts in eradicating poverty and expressed his satisfaction when meeting beneficiaries of various government schemes. “I have lived in poverty. I know how troublesome the life of a poor is. All the schemes launched in the last 10 years are inspired by my life experiences. When I meet the beneficiaries, I get tears of joy. These tears can only be understood by those who have seen poverty and struggle. The one who never saw his mother coughing due to smoke, cannot understand these tears... The Shehzade of Congress is searching for his happiness in Modi's tears... These people are disappointed and hopeless,” said PM Modi.

‘Inheritance tax’ remark: What is US Inheritance Law quoted by Sam Pitroda?

‘Inheritance tax’ remark: What is US Inheritance Law quoted by Sam Pitroda?

Talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “wealth distribution” remark, Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, Sam Pitroda on April 24 explained that when Congress talks about redistributing wealth, it means new policies and new programs that are in the interest of the people and not in the interest of super-rich only. "...In America, there is an inheritance tax. If one has $100 million worth of wealth and when he dies he can only transfer probably 45% to his children, 55% is grabbed by the government. That's an interesting law. It says you in your generation, made wealth and you are leaving now, you must leave your wealth for the public, not all of it, half of it, which to me sounds fair. In India, you don't have that. If somebody is worth 10 billion and he dies, his children get 10 billion and the public gets nothing...So these are the kind of issues people will have to debate and discuss. I don't know what the conclusion would be at the end of the day but when we talk about redistributing wealth, we are talking about new policies and new programs that are in the interest of the people and not in the interest of super-rich only," said Sam Pitroda.

Lok Sabha elections 2024: PM Modi criticizes Congress for Sam Pitroda's comments

At a public event in Surguja, Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to Sam Pitroda's remarks about "inheritance tax." Modi stated, "The advisor to the royal family's prince and the prince's father said that more taxes should be levied on the middle class. But now, the Congress has taken it a step further by proposing an inheritance tax. They want to tax what you inherit from your parents. The property you've earned through your hard work may not go to your children because Congress could take it away. Congress will increase taxes while you're alive and, once you're gone, burden you with inheritance taxes. Those who treated the Congress party as their family property and passed it down to their children now want to deny Indians the same right to pass on their property to their children," explained Prime Minister Modi.
