IMD had predicted that Mumbai would likely receive heavy rainfall at isolated places for three days starting Friday 2nd August along with heavy rainfall at isolated areas in Thane. Andheri Subway was shut down for commuters due to waterlogging. On the other hand, city's seven lakes have already crossed 80% capacity as Mumbai's water levels have risen significantly.
03 August,2024 03:30 PM ISTPrime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hold a massive roadshow in Ghatkopar in the Mumbai North East constituency on Wednesday, May 15. Stretching over 2.5 km, the roadshow will kick off at 8 pm from Shreyas Cinema on LBS Marg, and will end up at Gandhi Market. Mihir Kotecha, nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party, is vying for the seat, slated for polls on May 20 alongside other Mumbai constituencies in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha election. Mumbai police has issued traffic diversions in parts of the city ahead of pm Modi's roadshow in Mumbai for Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
14 May,2024 03:33 PM ISTPrime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mumbai today and was received at the airport by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. PM Modi, along with Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athavale and Bhagwat Karad reached BKC’s MMRDA ground to address a public rally and inaugurate several development projects, including the metro services, the Mumbai One App and NMMC Card. He also inaugurated 20 Babasaheb Apla davakhanas and initiated the redevelopment of municipal hospitals at Oshiwara, Goregaon, Bhandup. PM also started seven waste water treatment facilities with 2464 capacity mld, and boosted concretisation of road works worth rs 6079 crores. His visit also included the initiation of redevelopment of csmt and transferring money directly to 1 lakh plus beneficiaries under the PM Svanidhi Fund.

Riders were unhappy with the move and said helmets for pillion riders are unnecessary. On May 25, the police commissioner had instructed traffic cops to take action against bikers whose pillion riders were not wearing helmets. The traffic department had given 15 days’ time to bikers for compliance, failing which they would be penalised.

A MiD Day check on Wednesday between 3.30 pm to 350 pm found that more than fifty-two wheelers including cops used the J J flyover in a short span of twenty minutes for their convenience making the law at stake. This reporter also found that there were no policemen on the either side of the flyover as earlier there were few to stop the bikers. Aldo the speed of bikers on the flyover was more than the average speed of 30 km/hr. 21 October,2010 12:00 PM ISTAn Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) tried to intimidate officials from Navghar Police station (Mulund) after his son was hauled up for having tinted glass on his car windows. As the Mumbai traffic police swing into action over tinted glass on car windows, a young man was caught yesterday afternoon with tinted car windows. He argued vehemently with the police, even calling them biased for catching him and not others. When he was brought to the police station, it was found that he was the son of an ACP. He called his father to the police station and the senior official, shockingly, instead of reprimanding his son for abusive behaviour, tried to bully the local police, who made a station dairy against the ACP.
