Bringing a much needed relief to the commuters in Mumbai, Mumbai Metro 3 Phase 1 started its services on October 7. Connecting BKC(Bandra Kurla Complex) to Aarey, this metro service has come as a big relief to the commuters travelling on the western line. Developed at a cost of 32,000 crores, this is Mumbai’s first fully underground metro. In this first phase - around 12 km stretch has been inaugurated between Aarey Colony and BKC. In the subsequent phase - this stretch will be total of around 33 kms between Colaba - Arey and Seepz. This is known to be one of the most challenging projects for the authorities. While this metro project has been a witness to certain hiccups, here’s a peek inside the Mumbai Metro 3 Phase 1 journey.

Phase one will soon connect Aarey to BKC, creating a vital link for commuters. Although it may open without the two airport stations, this fully underground line promises to make travel in the city faster and easier. Stretching 33.5 km (20.8 mi), Aqua Line 3 will feature 27 underground stations and one at-grade station. 15 May,2024 05:17 PM ISTMaharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday inspected the under-construction Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link. The bridge is 22-km long between the metropolis and its satellite city Navi Mumbai. The six-lane road bridge, also known as Sewri-Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link, is being constructed by th e MMRDA. The bridge begins in Sewri in south Mumbai and terminates at Chirle near Nhava Sheva. A small function was held on the deck of the bridge, following which Shinde and Fadnavis went for a test drive towards Navi Mumbai in Shinde’s private high-end car. Fireworks were also seen upon the completion of test drive by the CM and Dy CM.

PM Modi, along with Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athavale and Bhagwat Karad reached BKC’s MMRDA ground to address a public rally and inaugurate several development projects, including the metro services, the Mumbai One App and NMMC Card. He also inaugurated 20 Babasaheb Apla davakhanas and initiated the redevelopment of municipal hospitals at Oshiwara, Goregaon, Bhandup. PM also started seven waste water treatment facilities with 2464 capacity mld, and boosted concretisation of road works worth rs 6079 crores. His visit also included the initiation of redevelopment of csmt and transferring money directly to 1 lakh plus beneficiaries under the PM Svanidhi Fund.
