India on May 02 lodged a strong protest against the reports of Chinese activities in Shaksgam Valley situated in POK. Shooting down media reports of ‘construction activities by China in Shaksgam Valley’ MEA said that It is a part of India. MEA further said that New Delhi never accepted the China-Pakistan boundary agreement of 1963. The issue of Shaksgam Valley comes amid the India-China border dispute along the Line of Actual Control. Indian and Chinese soldiers came at a loggerhead at friction points in eastern Ladakh in 2020 at LAC. The Shaksgam Valley, or the Trans Karakoram Tract is a strategically key region is part of the Hunza-Gilgit Region of PoK. It is bordered by the Xinjiang Province of China to the north, the northern areas of PoK to its west, south & Siachen Glacier region to the east. The Shaksgam Valley was ceded to China by Pakistan in 1963 when both countries signed a boundary pact to settle their differences.

Khalistani Hardeep Nijjar Murder Case: Canadian Police arrests 3 Indians

Canadian Police arrested and charged 3 Indians in connection to the Khalistani Hardeep Nijjar Murder Case. The arrested men are Karanpreet Singh (28), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karan Brar (22). The murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a separatist campaigning for the creation of Khalistan, an independent Sikh homeland. The investigation is going on into whether the arrested men have ties to the Indian government. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in June last year outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, a Vancouver suburb. The trio was arrested in the city of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada on May 03 (IST). The murder case has raised concerns about potential ties between the arrested individuals and the Indian Govt. There are allegations of Indian Govt involvement in assassination plots in Canada, the US. Canadian police, in collaboration with the US law enforcement agencies, conducted the investigation and made the arrests. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities suggesting that more detentions might occur.

Gen Munir also talked about aerial engagements between Indian and Pakistani air forces in 2019 post Pulwama attack. He said, “The professionalism in brilliance of Pakistan Air Force is being displayed in war against our arch-rivals and profoundly in Feb 2019 in short but several engagements against the misplaced calculus of our rival who mistook our initial restraint as weakness. We shall never allow anyone to challenge our territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of our beloved homeland. Regardless of what are adversaries say, another region where forces violently trampling over Human Rights and muzzling voices to self-determination is Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The silence of the world over Kashmir is deafening. But, we will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir till the day they are empowered to exercise their rights of self-determination.” Ever since 1947, relations between India and Pakistan have been tense and Kashmir has been major of conflict. The countries have fought several wars and in 2019, the relations nosedived when the Article 370 was abrogated. India has reiterated its stance on numerous occasions that entire Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of the country.

India-China dispute | "India values stable relations with China" PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his latest interview with the US-based Magazine ‘Newsweek’ talked about the India-China relations. PM Modi stressed the ‘prolonged situation’ on the disputed India-China border should be discussed ‘urgently’ to normalize the bilateral ties. The PM emphasized that the stable and peaceful relations between India and China are important for the entire region and world. PM Modi on the topic of competing with China highlighted that the country has an edge when being pitted against China which is currently engulfed in economic woes. Reacting to this, China also ‘noted’ PM Modi's remarks on the border ties between the two countries. Chinese spokesperson Mao Ning said that ‘sound and stable’ ties would serve the interests of both countries. Meanwhile, Congress also reacted to PM Modi’s interview with the magazine and said that the PM has crossed "all limits of cowardice".
