Nepal floods horror: Death toll rises to 170, Many still missing

Kathmandu, Nepal, has been severely affected by recent heavy rains, leading to devastating floods and landslides that have claimed at least 170 lives in just 24 hours. Additionally, 68 people are reported missing, and around 100 have sustained injuries due to the Nepal flood horror. The relentless downpour, driven by moisture from the Bay of Bengal, has left many residential areas submerged, disrupting daily life and forcing locals to navigate knee-deep waters. In response to the crisis, the government has mobilized over 20,000 security personnel, including the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police, to conduct search and rescue operations across the valley. The region, already vulnerable to seasonal monsoon effects, is grappling with swollen rivers that have overflowed onto roads and bridges, exacerbating the situation.
