A major accident occurred early Friday morning at the Dharavi-Mahim junction when a large trailer lost control and crashed into several parked vehicles, including taxis and tempos. Five vehicles were badly damaged, with some even falling into a roadside gutter due to the impact. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Videos from the scene show taxis and tempos lying in the gutter, while the trailer is stuck on a slope near it. The Sahunagar police and Mahim traffic police arrived quickly to manage the situation and assess the damage. To remove the trailer, the traffic police called in a small crane, clearing the road for traffic. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.

On November 18, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his comments about the Dharavi redevelopment project. Shinde claimed that Rahul Gandhi provided incorrect information, stating that 2 lakh people would get homes in Dharavi. Shinde also mocked Gandhi's recent appearance with a safe during a press conference, saying he had brought the "tijori" (safe) to loot Maharashtra, instead of helping it. Shinde urged the people of Dharavi to focus on the benefits of the redevelopment project, which he called Asia's largest, and to ignore political figures.
