Mortal remains of Agniveer Akshay brought to his residence in Buldhana

The mortal remains of Agniveer (Operator) Gawate Akshay Laxman were brought to his residence in Pimpalgaon Sarai village of Buldhana, Maharashtra on Oct 23. He is the first Agniveer to have laid down his life in operations. He was deployed at the world’s highest battlefield Siachen Glacier.

Buldhana Accident: Two buses collide in Buldhana; 6 killed, 20 injured

Six people were killed and 20 injured in a major road accident in Maharashtra's Buldhana late last night. According to the police, two buses collided head-on at around 2.30 am on NH 53 at Nandur Naka flyover in Malkapur area. District collector of Buldhana, gave information about this incident. This is the second major bus accident in the Buldhana district recently. On July 1, at least 25 people, including three children, were burnt to death, and eight others were injured when the bus they were travelling in caught fire on the Samruddhi-Mahamarg Expressway in the district.

Samruddhi Expressway Accident: CM Shinde, Dy CM Fadnavis reach bus accident site

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis reached the accident site on the Samruddhi Mahamarg expressway where 25 people were charred to death after a bus caught fire. A total of 33 passengers were onboard the bus of which eight persons were injured. The CM and Dy CM also visited the civic hospital in Buldhana where the injured are treated. Meanwhile, both PM and CM have announcex ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh and 5 lakh respectively for the kin of the deceased.

Samruddhi Expressway accident: 25 dead as Pune bound bus catches fire

As many as 25 passengers on a private bus were charred to death in the wee hours of Saturday, July 1, after their bus caught fire on Samruddhi Expressway. The incident happened in Buldhana district. While exact reason of the accident is yet to be ascertained, the cops suspect that the bus which was on its way from Nagpur to Pune hit a pole and rammed into divider and turned turtle eventually causing it to catch fire. Meanwhile, the bus driver claimed that the accident happened after a tyre burst. There were at least 34 passengers in the bus, an official said, adding the eight passengers who survived were admitted to nearby hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi--while condoling the death of 26 passengers travelling in a private bus--announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs for the kin of deceased and announced Rs 50,000 for the injured persons. In a tweet PMO said that the aid will be given from PM National Relef Fund. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed deep grief over the accident. He condoled the deaths and concurrently annouced an aid of Rs 5 lakhs from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the kin of deceased. Meanwhile, Dy CM Fadnavis also condoled the incident and deaths and informed the media that he and the CM will be visitng the site and meet the survivors in the hospital soon.
