Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai slams ED and CBI agencies

AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was granted bail on August 9. Shortly after the Supreme Court granted bail, AAP held a press conference in the national capital on August 09. During the conference, Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai accused the BJP of attempting to stifle the hope for educational reform in India. He also claimed that the investigating agencies failed to find any evidence against Manish Sisodia and criticized the situation as shameful for keeping him imprisoned without proof. “The way Manish Sisodia was kept in jail for 17 months is proof that the BJP government wants to crush the hope of educational change in this country... We all thank the Supreme Court. Not a single evidence has been found till date. The CBI and ED kept the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi in jail for 17 months. Shame on such an agency which has not found a single evidence till date”, said Gopal Rai.

The vessel was suspected of carrying a consignment that could be used for Pakistan’s nuclear missile programmes. The ship was thoroughly examined by a team of Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The components in the cargo ship were primarily suspected of being used in Pak’s nuclear initiatives, specifically, in manufacturing some critical components for missile development. However, the DRDO is yet to submit its final report on the vessel stopped at the port.

Central agencies seek reports from SSB, UP police on Seema Haider's entry

Central Intelligence Agencies have sought a report from Sashastra Seema Bal and UP Police on Seema Haider. The Pak National travelled through Nepal to reach India as she wished to live with her Indian partner. Seema had crossed illegally to India to live with Sachin Meena whom she befriended via an online game. However, Haider was arrested on July 4 for illegally entering India without a visa. Indian citizen Sachin Meena was put behind bars for sheltering the illegal immigrant. Seema Haider had earlier said, “I want to live here in India with Sachin. I don’t want to go back. I want my husband in Pakistan to stay with his first wife and children. I appeal to the Indian government that I do not want to go back to Pakistan. I want Indian citizenship for myself and my children. I will stay here in any condition, I just want Sachin and my children by my side. I came to India through Nepal, I tried to apply for Indian visa but could not get it.” “Intelligence agencies have asked report from SSB and UP Police to find out how she managed to cross over without being verified by police personnel at the border. We have also demanded a report from UP Police as she entered India via the UP border and stayed with her partner for many days,” senior officials said.
