Maharashtra Election 2024 is just a few days away and the candidates are campaigning intensely to grab their seat in the assembly elections. One of the most interesting battles is that of Sena vs Sena in the Worli constituency. While Worli has always been a bastion of the undivided Shiv Sena, the voters will be voting a split Shiv Sena this Assembly Elections. Giving a competition to Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Aaditya Thackeray is Milind Deora from the Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. In an exclusive chat with Mid-day’s Katyayani Kapoor, Milind Deora talks about Worli’s issues, challenging Aaditya Thackeray and vision for Mumbai.

Ahead of the Maharashtra elections, Prime Minister Modi criticized Congress and its allies in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for disrespecting the state's heroes like Veer Savarkar and Balasaheb Thackeray. He challenged MVA leaders to publicly praise Savarkar and Thackeray, showing respect for Maharashtra's pride. Modi accused Congress of only seeking power, saying they divided the country during partition for their own gain. He also warned that Congress is trying to divide Dalits, OBCs, and Adivasis by pitting different castes against each other to weaken them. He urged the people to stay united, stressing that only through unity will they remain strong and safe from such divide-and-rule tactics.

He accused the opposition of blocking development for decades, preventing progress on projects like the metro, Vadavan Port, and Samriddhi Highway.
