Serbian students in thousands gather to protest against the government

In a litmus test for President Aleksandar Vučić’s administration, thousand of students gathered in Belgrade for anti-government demonstrations reflecting widespread public dissatisfaction and the escalating momentum of anti-corruption protests. The catalyst for this movement was the tragic collapse of the Novi Sad railway station roof in November 2024, which claimed 15 lives—a disaster many attribute to governmental negligence.  This gathering will be followed up by a rally in which students from across Serbia march on foot to the capital protesting against the current government.

PM Modi’s US Visit: PM Modi reacts to the issue of Indian ‘illegal immigrants’

While US prepares to deport 2nd batch of illegal immigrants to India, on the illegal immigration issue, PM Narendra Modi said, "...Those who stay in other countries illegally do not have any legal right to be there. As far as India and the US are concerned, we have always said that those who are verified and are truly the citizens of India - if they live in the US illegally, India is ready to take them back. But it doesn't stop just there for us. These are people from ordinary families. They are shown big dreams and most of them are such who are misled and brought here. So, we should attack this entire system of human trafficking. Together, it should be the effort of the US and India to destroy such an ecosystem from its roots so that human trafficking ends...Our bigger fight is against that entire ecosystem and we are confident that President Trump will fully cooperate with India in finishing this ecosystem."

Trump supported this, saying he was elected to ensure government honesty and promised to look into other areas, like education and the military, for oversight. This criticism followed Trump’s January 20 order freezing most U.S. foreign aid, leading to a shutdown of USAID’s programs and staff, with its website going offline and the acting administrator appointed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
