On December 15, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended the swearing-in ceremony for the expansion of the Maharashtra Cabinet. The Mahayuti Alliance, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), achieved a significant victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, securing 230 out of 288 seats. In contrast, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi won only 46 seats. Following the cabinet expansion, CM Fadnavis announced that a performance audit will be conducted for all ministers. 16 December,2024 12:08 PM ISTNCP (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he attended a screening of "The Sabarmati Files" on December 2. Speaking at a press conference, Raut pointed out that while the Prime Minister had time to watch the movie, he had no time to address important issues like the situation in Manipur or the farmers protesting at the Delhi border. While speaking to ANI, he suggested nominating Eknath Shinde to the central cabinet. "When Eknath Shinde came to know that the BJP high command has selected Devendra Fadnavis as the CM (of Maharashtra), he was a bit unhappy, which I can understand. But, BJP has got 132 seats and hence I think there should be a way, Devendra Fadnavis should be made the CM. Eknath Shinde can assume the charge of deputy CM.
