Maharashtra Election 2024 is just a few days away and the candidates are campaigning intensely to grab their seat in the assembly elections. One of the most interesting battles is that of Sena vs Sena in the Worli constituency. While Worli has always been a bastion of the undivided Shiv Sena, the voters will be voting a split Shiv Sena this Assembly Elections. Giving a competition to Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Aaditya Thackeray is Milind Deora from the Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. In an exclusive chat with Mid-day’s Katyayani Kapoor, Milind Deora talks about Worli’s issues, challenging Aaditya Thackeray and vision for Mumbai.

PM Modi visited Mumbai on 14th November to address a public meeting at Shivaji Park ahead of the Maharashtra Election 2024. PM Narendra Modi attacked the Maha Vikas Aghadi and said that MVA has become slaves to appeasement. He further said, “Leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi have become slaves to appeasement. The leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi opposed the construction of Ram Temple. For the sake of votes, they used the words like 'Bhagwa aatankwad'. They disrespect Veer Savarkar. They passed a resolution in J&K for the restoration of Article 370...Maha Vikas Aghadi always keeps their party above the nation and they have problems with India's progress...They never gave the status of classical language to Marathi language...”. PM Modi in Mumbai also took a dig at the Shiv Sena (UBT) and said that there is a party in the Aghadi which has handed over its remote control to the Congress which insulted Bala Saheb.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Guwahati, Assam, to pray at the Kamakhya Devi Temple, an important religious site. This visit comes just before the assembly elections on November 20, making it strategically significant. Shinde plans to perform his prayers at the temple on Wednesday. This isn’t his first visit; he previously came in June 2022 with 39 rebel MLAs during a political crisis that led to the fall of Uddhav Thackeray’s government. Shinde became Chief Minister on June 30, 2022, with support from the BJP, and returned to the temple in November 2022 for blessings. As elections approach, Shinde’s party, the Shiv Sena, has yet to announce its candidates.
