More than five students were killed and 15 others were injured after a private school bus overturned in Kanina town of Haryana’s Mahendragarh district on April 11. The driver is believed to have been drunk, say the police. Police sources said that the bus's driver jumped out of the speeding vehicle after losing control of it and it rammed a tree. The injured were immediately admitted to private hospitals. The kids were on their way to GL Public School, a private school located in Kanina of Mahendragarh when the tragic incident took place. During the question hour in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury asked Sitharaman the reason behind the "indiscriminate and arbitrary attitude" of the Centre towards Karnataka. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 05 dismissed Congess’ Adhir Chowdhury’s claims of ‘partiality’ with the non-BJP ruled states. Ms Sitharaman responding to the same explained that "devolution to states... happens as per Finance Commission recommendation", and that she had no "discretion" in allocation of tax revenues.
