Congress leader Salman Khurshid compared Rahul Gandhi to Ram and also called him Yogi and Superhuman. Hindu sages have objected to this statement of Salman Khurshid. Hailing Rahul Gandhi on his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress veteran leader Salman Khurshid said that Gandhi is “like a yogi doing his 'tapasya' with focus”. Linking Congress to 'Bharat' and Rahul Gandhi to 'Lord Ram', Khurshid said, "Rahul Gandhi is superhuman. While we are freezing in the cold and wearing jackets, he is going out in T-Shirts (for his Bharat Jodo Yatra). He is like a yogi doing his 'tapasya' with focus," he said. Several Hindu sages have objected to this statement. They challenged him to chant a single shloka, and assured that he would not know any. The sages also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s comments on Veer Savarkar.
