The Speaker of Canada`s House of Commons lower chamber resigned after he publicly praised a former Nazi soldier in Parliament. Ex-soldier Yaroslav Hunka had served in one of Adolf Hitler`s Waffen SS units during World War II. Earlier, Justin Trudeau refused to take the blame for honouring Ex Nazi soldier Yaroslav Hunka in Parliament. Now, Canadian PM Trudeau on Sept 27 apologised days after Speaker of Canada`s House of Commons lower chamber resigned. Speaker Anthony Rota publicly acknowledged the veteran in the House on September 22 and called him a hero. Anthony Rota told legislators he had made a mistake by inviting ex-soldier Yaroslav Hunka, 98, to attend a session. He praised a Nazi veteran during a session where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was also present. Meanwhile, The Kremlin on Sept 25 called it "outrageous" that the speaker of Canada`s House of Commons had praised Nazi soldier.
